MISSION

 

Job Summary

Responsible for the creation of the Master Production Schedule, understanding, utilizing and documenting the manufacturing constraints, monitoring its execution, escalating as necessary to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Responsible for managing customer systems; monitoring all facets of EDI to insure accurate input to MPS as well as effective communication to the Manufacturing team and the customer base.  Responsible for the drive of MPS execution through the use of Lean Manufacturing concepts including Kanban and Heijunka as well as continually improve the shop floor systems to pace the flow, escalate issues, and drive out waste. Unusual work hours and travel is required.

Reporting Relationship:   

This position reports directly to the Materials Manager.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Essential Functions

  1. First point of contact for multiple OEM customers considering customer satisfaction and 100% on time delivery
  2. Monitoring all on line customer systems to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  3. Ensure customer shipping schedules are maintained, communicated, and accurate
  4. Complete management of multiple customer releases within ERP and release based systems
  5. Solid understanding of manufacturing constraints
  6. Timely creation of weekly Master Production Schedule for assembly, weld, and blow mold operations
  7. If primary contact ensures capacity analysis, logistics information, customer score cards and customer portals.
  8. If primary contact for FCA program, may be trained FCA related computer applications as

       listed in FCA US LLC Customer-Specific Requirements for IATF 16949:2016.

       FCA computer applications may not be all inclusive, additional applications may be revised. 

       If primary contact for Ford program, may be trained in Ford system courses; Covisint (Ford Supplier

       Portal)

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Communication of heijunka schedule making production plan timely, visual, and accurate
  2. Utilize Master Production Schedule as main input to MRP providing supply base with accurate planning information
  3. Manage WIP and finished good inventory levels utilizing kanban pull systems
  4. Parameter review for all finished good and WIP part numbers, ensuring accurate part planning and minimum inventory levels
  5. Exception management including reaction to escalations as issues occur; on call after hours as required
  6. Set up and monitor expedites to customers as needed
  7. Responsible for improving supply chain metrics including inventory, freight, customer delivery, systems compliance
  8. Maintain the 5-S system
  9. Monitor all inputs required for MPS execution, elevating and adjusting as required to ensure 100% on time delivery

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  1. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  2. Knowledge of SAP system.
  3. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and has the ability to use 5 Why, A3, and 8D a plus
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  5. Must comply with all work and safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, and Excel

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

 

Education and Experience:

  1. BS degree in supply chain management, business administration 
  2. APICS certification desired in CPIM or CIRM
  3. SAP and experience using MS Excel formulas
  4. Minimum 2 years production control/supply chain management experience in a scheduling/ planning role
  5. Minimum 1 years of hands on Lean Manufacturing experience desired, Heijunka experience desired
  6. Experience with pull systems, level loading, forecast accuracy, and capacity planning preferred
  7. Legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of visa sponsorship/transfer now and in the future.
