The simulation team has developed an algorithm for the venting simulation, i.e. the calculation of volume of fuel that can be safely put in the tank if the car is parked with a slope. This calculation consists in calculating planes at different heights of fuel and different slopes of the tank. About 200 tank positions are required to evaluate one tank architecture.
This C++ code is then embedded in an optimization loop to calculate the venting architecture of the fuel tank.
In order to reduce the computation time, we want to port this code to linux (to be used on our HPC) and to a GPU card (Nvidia P6000).
In a second time, the intern will work on improving the optimization algorithm that is currently used.
