MISSION

Coordinates activities of Electronic Architecture team (CDE, CSA, Validation, Tuning, …) on electric/electronic (E/E) components & controlled system architecture as OEM project Core team member

Guarantees compliance of parts and systems to specifications.

Provides alternative solutions to meet cost targets and attractive innovative solutions to customer.

Takes in charge other predevelopments for his OEM & Supports R&D projects needs in his/her field of expertise.

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coordinates activities of Electronic Architecture team (CDE, CSA, Validation, Tuning, …) on electric/electronic (E/E) components & controlled system architecture as OEM project Core team member
  • Develops teamwork on a collaborative mode and works in synergy with all project team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Maintains day to day contact with customer on technical issues, defends the Generic Component & Component strategy of Plastic Omnium facing the OEM.
  • Conducts design reviews on Controlled System Architecture and E/E control units.
  • Feeds open issue lists with items related to product.
  • Insures at his level strict application of INCHANGE process and continuous improvement process
  • Insures delivery of components documentation to the OEM project team (drawings, BOM, DFMEA, DVP, test reports, control plans, corresponding presentations, other INPRO deliverables), Keeps PAE informed on BOM evolution.
  • Insures manufacturability of the components he is in charge of.
  • Defines the System E/E Pin-Out for all prototype & production levels and coordinates with Wire Harness CDE & Electronic Validation Engineer
  • Within the SCR project team, negotiates the OEM milestones and monitors the DFMEA’s, the DVP and control plans of components extensions to adapt them to OEM requirements, with-in Inergy Component strategy.
  • Contribute to optimization of FMEA & DVP execution with SA&C & EA teams.
  • Gives feedback from field experience to SCR team members.
  • Guarantees compliance of parts and systems to customer specifications.
  • Issues regular reporting and re-forecasting of product cost/metrics and of product development costs (Typically monthly)
  • Optimizes product cost and product development costs, follows design to costs targets
  • Analyses all relevant OEM specifications, standards, and specific requirements, cascades the consequences to the component engineer, OEM project manager, the SCR project manager, builds and follows the deviation lists.
  • Identifies technical risks, defines and implements corrective action plan.
  • Writes the technical requirements for controlling & diagnose the PO components addressed to the OEM &/or to the supplier and negotiates it with the OEM with-in PO Component strategy.
  • In cooperation with the component engineer, reviews and updates the specifications, adapts and publishes the component CTS to the OEM needs.
  • Ensure reliability, safety, compliance to norms and regulations of products/system and to ergonomic rules.
  • Records product project history file and shares experience within Plastic Omnium.
  • Provides alternative solutions to meet cost targets and attractive innovative solutions to customer.
  • Proposes VA/VE ideas and cost savings.
  • Takes other SCR predevelopments in charge for his OEM & Supports R&D projects needs in his/her field of expertise.
  • Participates to the project design reviews and project reviews, proposes & validates potential up-grades
  • Analyses all relevant OEM specifications, norms, and specific requirements, cascades the consequences to the component engineer, OEM project manager, the SCR project manager, builds and follows the deviation lists.
  • As part of the Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy Research & Development organization, brings his/her expertise to the Research & Development projects following needs, including processes & procedures.
  • Contributes to Requirement Management Methodology development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFILE REQUIRED

 

Personal Background

  • Engineering degree (electromechanical, electronics, Automation) or equivalent
  • 8 years experiences in automotive industry, ideally with research or development experience in Electronic Control units
  • Demonstrated experience in architecture of automotive controlled systems

Skills & Abilities

  • English: professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Japanese: Native level
  • Excellent aptitude as regards project coordination, communication and customer management
  • Proven knowledge and use Japanese OEMs (Focus on Toyota Group) Electric/Electronic norms
  • Knowledge of OBDI, OBDII & EOBD requirements
  • Use of DOORS, Vector/Etas tools is a plus
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
