MISSION
• The Commodity Buyer is responsible to identify and develop a robust supply base for his/her scope.
• Commodity Buyer is responsible to define and implement strategies for a given portfolio
• Support cross functional teams (supply chain, program buyers, other departments)
Responsibilities & Activities
• Safety, Compliance & Reporting
o Encourage safety activities within extended supply base including enforcement of PLASTIC OMNIUM (PO) 6 non-negotiables
o Be accountable for the respect and application of Global Purchasing procedures
o Build and share the reporting of his activities
• Business Intelligence
o Gather important market information for the Purchasing scope in his/her scope of responsibility
o Identify potential suppliers on the market for the current and future needs of PO New Energies
• Supply base management
o Establish trustful and long-term relationship with selected suppliers
o Conduct suppliers’ capability studies by performing on-sight evaluation audits with Engineering and Quality teams
o Manage the suppliers accounts creations and maintenance
o Develop the supply base to reach state of the art level in all PO New Energies activities fields (automotive, trucks, buses, railway, etc…)
o Support partnerships and strengthen close relationships with key suppliers
o Monitor suppliers’ performance via Score cards, SMQRs, Management meetings…
• Commodities strategies
o Establish, share and implement commodities strategies for his/her Purchasing scope in accordance with PO Group policy and Purchasing policy
o Build and maintain up-to-date cost models for his/her commodities
o Encourage suppliers to promote and provide innovative solutions
o Develop TCO approach
• Sourcings & Programs Management
o Manage transversal projects for the commodities in his/her scope
o Support program buyers negotiations through transversal & global approach
o Support sourcing decisions according to identified needs, suppliers performances and skills, and defined strategy
• Contractual Management
o Manage the contractual relationship, including but not limited to intellectual property, payments terms & conditions, etc… in the interest of PO New Energies
o Responsible to work with legal department to insure the legal soundness of the contractual relationships between PO New Energies and its supply base, within scope assigned
• Performance
o Lead cost improvement ideas generation to implementation by working directly with all internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive cost reductions
o Contribute to company competitiveness improvement
o Negotiate competitive conditions and LTAs agreements with suppliers
o Ensure PO New Energies will have access to products & services according to needs and at preferred conditions in terms of pricing and quality
o Implement and respect the objectives fixed by Purchasing Management
o Attend and/or lead workshops for Purchasing continuous improvement
o Participate to the budget construction for the year N+1
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Personal Background
• High school diploma + 2 years
• 3 years experience in purchasing area (preferably in the automotive sector) or relevant.
Job Technical skills
• Strong negotiator
• Fluency in foreign language(s) business level, English is a Must
• Strong organizational skills and prioritize tasks to meet department objectives with timely manner
• Complete multiple activities concurrently
• Having innovation and openness to change
• Master pack office and SAP
Job Soft skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with other functional areas and suppliers.
• Having adaptability on multicultural and cross-departmental relations and team spirits
