Validation Engineer, New Energies (W/M) - Troy (US)
Missions:
• Lead activities related to the development, evaluation, validation and certification of products resulting from research and development projects
• Ensure project satisfaction
• Guarantee 0 accidents
• Participate in the development of test facilities and laboratory equipment
• Participate in the capitalization of know-how in the skills of the laboratory
Main responsibilities:
1. Laboratory representative within the High Pressure Systems project team
• Participates in all project reviews
• Provides data, information and documents to the project manager as required
• Participates in the definition and monitoring of project objectives, planning and budget
• Executes and monitors actions issued during project meetings
• Maintenance of daily contacts with members of the project team, in particular the Product and Component Engineers, on technical issues.
• Is the reference in terms of norms, standards, specifications and certification process for high pressure equipment.
2. Build test procedures and validation plans to cover specifications.
• Control, analysis and synthesis of specifications and standards relating to high pressure systems.
• Develop validation plans including the definition of test cases and procedures.
• Check with the Product Engineer that the validation plan covers all specifications, including certification.
• Check with the QE that the validation plan covers FMECA and HARA
3. Meet R&D project milestones for delivery of test results, validation and certification.
• Requester of lab resources to the lab manager through work requests
• Follow-up of external laboratories in case of outsourcing of tests
• Monitoring of certification bodies in the event of certification
• Ensure the preparation and compliance of all certification documentation with PM and EQ
• Reviews the associated schedule to ensure compliance with project milestones
• Inform the project of any deviation from the provisional schedule
• Provides support in monitoring technicians and participates in carrying out tests when necessary
• Is consulted for the review of test reports relating to its validation plan
• Participates in 8D analysis or any other type of analysis of non-compliant tests
4. Supports R&D projects
• Contributes knowledge and expertise to research and development projects as needed
• Contributes to the definition of validation tools used by the laboratory team
• Creates its network with the development laboratories, in particular with the other validation engineers
• Creates its network with external laboratories and certification bodies
5. Participates in the safety of the Laboratory
• Takes into account the safety risks, in particular those related to hydrogen, in the definition of the validation tests
• Participates in the actions defined by the laboratory manager and the HSE manager
• Respects all safety rules and behaves in accordance with the objective of 0 accidents
Required profil:
Personal Background:
Engineering degree or equivalent (experience), preferably in mechanics, electro-mechanics or chemistry
> 3 years of experience in similar position
Job Technical skills:
Experiences in: Lab testing, gas management (risks, behaviors …), high pressures management (hydraulic & pneumatic) and testing, usage of hydrogen is a plus.
Software: MS Office;
Good knowledge of fluid & solid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials properties and testing, permeation
Fluent in English; French, Dutch is a plus
