MISSION

In one or two sentences, outline the primary purpose(s) of this position within the organization

The Process Design Engineer is responsible for the new blow molding process in its entirety, this includes, but not restricted to, establishing, monitoring and maintaining the process parameters, design and process development using simulation tools / WW specifications and performing trials in new blowing process. Also support continuous improvement, machine troubleshooting and maintenance, lean Manufacturing techniques, tooling set-up and design, training, and special projects at the plant level when required.

 

Responsibilities & Activities

Outline the key areas of responsibility for this position, including the related activities and eventual authorities

  • Establish, monitor and maintain the process parameters ensuring production standards, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
  • Coordinate all blow molding process development activities in new blowing process (development).  This includes design, prototyping, scheduling and reporting.
  • Support activities at the plant level when required
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Coordinate and complete tooling changes and machine set-up.
  • Assist in the training of facility
  • Communicate equipment information, improvements, changes and corrective actions.
  • Communicate and participate with vendors on equipment review, schedule plan, Kick-off/Sign-off activity.
  • Participate PFMEA, GPS Checklist and Design Review
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing industry, preferably in automotive industry.
  • Engineer or technician with similar experience

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Japanese: native level
  • English: Intermediate level
  • Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data.
  • Ability to maintain working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Must be flexible, dependable and creative.
  • Ability to read drawing
  • Knowledge of statistical quality control
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC logic.
  • Good mechanical skills with a “hands-on” attitude.
