MISSION

 

 

 

  • This position includes designing, installing, programming, debugging, and troubleshooting automated equipment. This may include programmable logic controllers, robotics, vision systems, HMI software and hardware, as well as other pneumatic and electrical instrumentations.
  • Will also be involved in the development, commissioning, and training of the finishing and assembly equipment. You will be in charge of the Process Control Instrumentation systems, Continuous Conveyor Systems, VFDs and other similar systems

 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

 

  • Work according to SHE requirements (LOTO, TSV,6-Non Negotiable, Labor law…) and promote safety mindset on day to day basis.
  • Ensure safety and security conditions are kept in order within the production/technical area, alert management in case of any non-conformity or deviance.
  • To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Plastic Omnium.
  • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.
  • Coordinate all technical activity and maintain accurate records pertaining to the system PLC equipment including but not restricted to board revisions, software revisions, ladder logic, documentation and all associated interfaces.
  • Coordinate all training activity for the appropriate personnel regarding the design intent, operation, maintenance and programming of system automation, PLC equipment, robotic equipment and associated interfaces.
  • Provide support to the automation technicians and maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of all system automation equipment to the extent that all system uptime goals are met.
  • Liaison with the maintenance staff appropriately to ensure all system automation, PLC’s and robots are maintained to their optimum operating level.
  • Participate fully in the POMs team activities as directed by the Technical Manager to ensure standard goals are met.
  • Coordinate engineering modifications and new projects for all automation, PLC and robotic equipment as required ensuring all work is in accordance with the local regulations.
  • Develop robust logic for optimum operational Uptime and repeatability.
  • Develop automatic and user friendly data bases with user interfaces and reporting capabilities.
  • Continuously review and consider new technologies (PLC or otherwise) as they apply to POAI.  Make recommendations to Management Team/Strategic team as to their benefits along with feasibility and justification for such technologies.
  • Assume responsibility for the implementation of a comprehensive  Process Monitoring System utilizing graphical and real time representations of process parameters, variables and inputs such that accurate condition monitoring is provided for the assurance of process capability, maintenance diagnostics and data collection.
  • Provide bid specifications for potential vendors as required for specific projects.
  • Provide Electrical Engineering support as required as it applies to all other aspects of the current and any future systems.
  • Provide regular progress reports on the timeline schedules for all projects.
  • Any assignment as directed by Technical Manager

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

 

Personal Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics).
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Manufacturing (production or engineering) and in large production equipment management.

 

Job Technical skills

  • Prior experience with HMI software packages.
  • Siemens: Simatic Step 5 and Step 7 in Structure Text Language STL and Ladder diagram (for Siemens S5 and S7 PLC's), Visual Basic, Siemens Win CC.
  • Experience with Automotive Injection and Blowing Molding Machines.
  • Experience reading electrical and electronic schematics.
  • Must have demonstrated project engineering experience.
  • Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of the electrical coding
