Senior Accountant


Reports directly to the USA Accounting Manager



  • The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger accounting and financial reporting for Clean Inergy’s USA operations
  • Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints
  •  Unusual hours and travel may be required 
  • This is a salaried exempt position


  • Perform month-end close activities and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting to the corporate office in Paris
  • Assist with monthly consolidation activities
  • Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts
  • Assist accounting department with continued process and procedures developments and improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional departments on various accounting and business topics



  • Manage balance sheet accounts and related activity
  • Manage IFRS 16 Leasing reporting requirement
  • Responsible for monthly HFM reporting to corporate office in Paris
  • Monitor, analyze and reconcile inter-company billings from Inergy global affiliates, including corporate management fees
  • Budget and forecast inter-company charges
  • Perform accounting for R&D and Program Controlling
  • Maintain good communication and rapport with finance staff at Inergy global affiliates and corporate office in Paris
  • Support finance staff at plant locations for accounting functions
  • Provide support on accounting matters to related departments (customer center, purchasing, R&D controlling, payroll, etc)
  • Prepare timely and accurate documents for all audit requests
  • Prepare workpapers to comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Liaison to IS&S on software and technical issues
  • Able to function as a project leader for various accounting projects
  • Actively participate in continuous process improvement and corrective action activities
  • Provide support to other positions as needed
  • Accurately and timely complete all adhoc analyses, projects, reporting, etc.
  • Must successfully complete all Inergy required training.
  • Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned








Personal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • 6 - 8 years of experience in an Senior Accounting position
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive accounting career experience highly preferred
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of Hyperion is a plus         
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • MUST BE legally able to work in the U.S. without any type of visa requirement both now and in the future


Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • SAP experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-directed and hands-on, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Must be flexible, dependable and creative
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (English required)
  • Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ablility to handle multiple concurrent priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
