Job description


PLASTIC OMNIUM Auto Inergy division develops fuel and SCR systems for different worldwide OEMs - customers.

Refilling is a key function of fuel systems: the customer must be able to refilling the tank of his vehicle in a trouble-free and safe way.

Integration in car environment is one of the main challenges of Refilling function; measuring Key Dimensions based on Design Rules is the best way to identify and manage filling risks, in order to keep development costs and customer satisfaction under control.

To improve comfort and limit air pollution, emissions during refueling are submitted to different regulations; the most effective is On-board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR). Plastic Omnium aims at improving the efficiency of this technology by improving continuously design rules and validating them by simulation and tests on mock-up parts.

The main objectives of this internship is provide 2 database that will support Risk analysis for filling and define better Design Rules to ensure proper management of emission during refueling (ORVR)

The activity will therefore consist of:                  

  • Create and update filling architecture database
  • Support Fluid & Vapor Team in Analysis of filling risks (project applications)
  • Define more accurate Design Rules and acceptance criteria
  • Update and adapt ORVR database
  • Develop simulation of ORVR function and define Design Rules that are drivers for ORVR
  • Exchange with Simulation and Lab teams
  • Analyze the data, optimize state of the art and provide conclusions

Based on progress and workload of this activity, secondary activities may be added (ex: investigation of air entrapment during refilling process: simulation and lab tests).

The trainee will be integrated in the Product Development support team in our technical center α-Alphatech (60).



  • Engineering school or equivalent. Generalist or specialized in Fluid dynamic
  • Autonomy, organized
  • Interest for technical investigation
  • Analytical approach
  • Good knowledge of physics (fluid dynamics, mechanics)
  • Ability to communicate easily and clearly (verbal, written form)
  • Driving license
  • Softwares: Excel, use of Teamcenter VisView (CAD Viewer)

Languages: English (fluent on written form) and French.
