Engineering Group Leader

Missions

  • Promote safety culture
  • Manage the design engineering linked to customer projects
  • Provide input and quotes during the AVP phases
  • Continuously improve and deploy standards
  • Follow the development of product & processes that are developed by his/her teams in regards to all new projects
  • Achieve quality, cost and timing targets for all deliverables (SOW) and all developed equipment related to his/her perimeter
  • Adhere to budget

 

Activities

Management

  • Provide support (technical/managerial) to team and escalate issues to management, when needed
  • Anticipate resource needs and manage the recruitment of team members in relation with manager and HR
  • Allocate resources to meet the project Quality/Cost/Time objectives
  • Track and forecast team workload in order to optimize the resources
  • Conduct the annual assessments of team members
  • Manage the skills of the team, define the training plans in relation with manager and HR
  • Ensure adherence to budget (hours/ travel costs/investments/ workload)
  • Provide reporting to direct functional and hierarchical managers

Product Design and Manufacturing

  • Guarantee the cost level and hours budget during AVP phases in an optimized way, with the respect of the customer specifications
  • Manage perimeter changes for the team
  • Guarantee the systematic application of Design for manufacturing rules for the entire team
  • Provide support to team during critical phases
  • Participate to Launch Readiness for project perimeter of responsibility
  • Ensure design for safety and reliability
  • Drive resolution of Engineering deep red points to meet division objectives
  • Guarantee the adherence and application of the Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior Standards
  • Contribute to the launch readiness improvements promoting Right First Time approach
  • Ensure that lessons learned are brought up to the experts for capitalization
  • Takes part to standard specification elaboration activities
  • Make proposals in line with the continuous improvement policy in regards to development cost improvement at “ISO” SOW
  • Capitalize lesson learn and best practice at the end of project and ensure transversal application at a division level

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience leading a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Management role in development activities
