Q: When you applied for a position with Plastic Omnium what were your expectations, and were these met?
A: I had a friend working for Plastic Omnium, who informed me of the positions being recruited for at the new facility based in Warrington. I already had experience in maintenance and knowledge of the plastic industry, when I applied for a Maintenance Technician position within the Injection team. I expected that as a start-up plant, the role would be demanding but rewarding and working with state of the art technology is impressive.
Q: What do you like best about working for Plastic Omnium?
A: I have enjoyed learning new things. With the support of Plastic Omnium I have been able to attend various necessary training courses that enable me to perform my job more effectively. I also enjoy working with a fresh and dynamic team, the people at Plastic Omnium keep each other motivated and driven to succeed.
Q: What are your personal development goals?
A: I want to gain as much experience as I can within Moulding Maintenance with a view of progressing my career within the company. As the leading manufacturer worldwide in automotive exterior parts, the exposure I am able to receive from Plastic Omnium will have a great impact on my personal development.
Q: What would your advice be to someone joining the team during the start-up of a new facility?
A: Be prepared for a challenge. No two days are the same, the role is demanding and fast paced, but it is also rewarding when you are getting the job done. Each successful launch has brought the team closer together, and individuals are recognised for their hard work. Working for a new plant, with new technology and seeing everything working successfully gives a real sense of achievement.
