MISSION

Operates quality assurance and control systems, applies and analyzes inspection and testing procedures, uses metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper Quality practices. Understands human factors and motivation, administers management and Customer information systems, and audits quality practices for deficiency identification and correction.  Responsible for programming, maintaining and trouble-shooting the CMM Programs for dimensional layouts; and for calibration maintenance of the metrology equipment in the Quality lab and maintaining calibration system.

Responsibilities & Activities

Responsibility 1:

• Interfaces with customers (Customer Representative) on quality problems and quality improvement activities using structured corrective and preventative action methods
• Implements appropriate firewalls to protect the customer in response to a quality problem
• Displays proper adherence to Quality Mindset procedures and is able to coach others when needed
• Complies and administers customer PPAP documentation
• Interfaces with the customer concerning all aspects of APQP (InPro) including PPAP preparation and submittal
• Uses INChange (plant portion) for product or process changes
• Implements and/ or analyzes quality metrics (Customer, Key indicators, etc.) and initiates action plans when the metrics do not meet the objectives
• Lead continuous improvement

Responsibility 2:

• Facilitate Corrective and Preventative Action Activities (8D)
• Customer Portals
• Communicate Corrective Action Reports to internal and external customers
• Develop and support effective procedures and work/ test instructions per the IATF/ Customer Specific Requirement standards and global quality manual and monitors compliance
• Understands and applies the tools of Lean Manufacturing such as Value Stream Mapping, 5-S Workplace Organization, Continuous flow Manufacturing, Set-up reduction, Total Preventative Maintenance, Mistake Proofing, Six Sigma, etc.
• Understanding of IATF requirements
• Understanding of Customer specific requirements 

Responsibility 3:

• Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises
• Work requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing
• Must be able to lift up to 33lbs on a regular basis
• Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times

Responsibility 4:

• Maintain / file accurate records of all quality tests, audits, calibration, and gage MSA requirements.
• Performs calibration and Gage MSA as required / scheduled
• Provide support to other Engineers for layouts and PPAP as needed
• Coach Quality Auditors and assist with Quality lab equipment issues when requested

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Personal Background

• B.S Degree (preferably in an engineering discipline)
• ASQ certified Quality Engineer preferred
• 2 to 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing
• Customer interaction experience / 8D
• CMM (operation experience, programming required)
• Gage calibration knowledge
• PCDEMIS, a plus
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of visa sponsorship or transfer both now and in the future
