Job Summary:
Responsible for Logistics function within the manufacturing facility. Supervise people and processes to achieve metric goals for the department. Unusual work hours and travel may be required. This is a salaried, exempt position.

 

Reporting Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Material Manager.

 

Essential Functions
1. Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations
2. Supervise the shipping and receiving personnel
3. Manage Shipping operations to ensure customer delivery ratings are met including service deliveries
4. Responsible for overall warehouse management and organization – including outside back pad

 

Additional Responsibilities
1. Manage warehousing requirements, including external warehousing if required
2. Manage Service operations to achieve Service delivery requirements
3. Maintain the 5-S system in the warehouse and shipping office
4. Assist others with shipping needs

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
2. Strong interpersonal skills along with a high level of strategic leadership abilities
3. Strong analytical and advanced problem solving skills using structured methods
4. Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures
5. Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
6. Able to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
7. Must successfully complete all required training

8. Legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now and in the future

 

Education and Experience:
1. Associate or Bachelor Degree Required, preferably in logistics/Supply Chain Management 
2. 3 to 7 years of experience in Logistics/Scheduling required, preferably in automotive manufacturing preferred
3. Advanced knowledge and experience implementing Lean Systems in a manufacturing environment
