MISSION
The Quality Technician / Shift Lead is responsible for in process auditing of manufactured product and processes, testing and measuring of product, control/disposition of suspect/non-conforming product through DMN and MRB processes and ensuring calibration of measuring equipment. This is an hourly paid position.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the development, implementation, training, audit, and enforcement of tools and visual indicators with Production Team Members Ensures production line is staffed and makes arrangements for coverage when necessary Promote quality concepts within the plant Understand and follow DMN & MRB systems and participates in problem resolution as requested Communicate quality issues to organization Maintain / file accurate records of all quality tests, audits, calibration, gage R&R and DMN’s Assist quality organization as requested Understand and perform product and process audits
ACTIVITIES
Complete all testing per company and Customer specifications.
Reporting of Quality metrics
Supports launch activities for new programs and prototype
Develop and support effective procedures and work/test instructions per the IATF 16949 standard and global quality manual – ongoing monitoring of compliance to such standards.
Interfaces with the customers and suppliers on quality problems and quality improvement activities using a structured corrective and preventive action method
Support Quality Engineers in compiling customer PPAP documentation
Perform calibration and Gage R&R as required / scheduled
Facilitates corrective action (8D) as applicable
Authority and responsibility to stop production and shipments when a Quality or Safety issue arises
PROFILE REQUIRED
Personal Background
Requires a High School Diploma or GED
Quality Background
Operate Romer Arm, Hand-held gauges, and power tools as necessary to verify product quality
Ability to operate forklift a plus
Must successfully complete all required training
Must comply with all work / safety rules, policies and procedures
Practice 5S workplace organizing in assigned area
Strong communication skills – written and verbal
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, Access, Visio
Reactivity – ability to work in a fast paced environment – results oriented
Skills & Abilities
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
Knowledge of customer-specific requirements
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high energy environment. Positions require unusual hours and/or commitments of time beyond standard work week
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
Position requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing; Requires working under high temperature at certain times
