Modelling & Simulation Process Engineer



  • Improves M&S methodology in the field of Process simulations and its application to R&D projects for new fuel, depollution, or alternative energy systems
  • Leads research projects or work packages related to Process simulations for manufacturing innovative parts


Responsibilities and activities


Develops expertise in the field of Process simulations

  • Collects information related to Process simulations . Makes this information comprehensive and ensures appropriate diffusion
  • Collects technical and scientific papers, patents and patent applications, software suppliers information and information from competitors related to new M&S approach
  • Validates simulation results
  • Capitalizes knowledge and contributes to training


Leads research projects  or work packages where Process simulations analysis is involved

  • In cooperation with the project team and, if any, the external customer, leads the M&S activities (defines the objectives and planning, performs the simulations, prepares and follows the trials, draws conclusions, proposes further actions, …); makes sure these activities are done on time and  follows associated costs
  • Writes reports for internal diffusion and patent proposals; presents results to customer; ensures the diffusion of any relevant information within the research team and within the company
  • Support  Research projects in the field of process simulation
  • Ensure a level 2 support to Technical Centers



  • Brings his/her expertise to the research & development projects following needs
  • Networks with other experts within Development department and with the simulation engineers in the Technical Centers
  • Develops contacts with major software suppliers to identify future trends
  • Proposes and follows collaboration with universities and supervises coop student work




Personal Background

  • Engineering degree or equivalent. in the field of Mechanics, or Material processing
  • 2 years of experience for simulation of plastic processing
  • Ph. D is a plus


Skills & Abilities

  • Develops & maintains relevant know-how, capitalizes experience, ensures the diffusion of his/her knowledge
  • Follows technical and scientific literature (including patents) in his/her field of expertise, participates to seminars in order to maintain high level up-to-date knowledge
  • Good knowledge in advanced processes, rheology and optimization techniques
  • Good knowledge of computer-related technologies (finite elements, finite volumes)
  • Aptitude in communication
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Knowledge of Blow View software is a plus
