MISSIONS:

  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting all manufacturing plant systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
  • Coordinate the automation projects for the Plant
  • Identify the best opportunities for automation and robotic applications
  • Ensure that all automated systems meet the functional requirements; system improvements and implementation is conducted timely and efficiently
  • Support plant personnel on performing complex system/automated tasks.  Assist maintenance personnel in complex trouble shooting. 
  • Work with IT/IS teams to ensure integration, connectivity and proper operation of Industrial Systems

 

ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist in installation and programing with supplier. Debug, troubleshoot, maintain and modify automation equipment such as ABB, FANUC, Conair, KUKA and Sepro Robots programmable logic controllers among others
  • Formalize connection between MES/traceability system and automation equipment
  • Participate to impacts analysis on MES : new projects, new flows, and update of FMEA
  • Primary lead for maintenance of Industry 4.0 systems (Smart storage, RFID, traceability, shopfloor MES) and will work closely with IT/IS teams to ensure systems are operating at peak efficiency
  • Develop, coordinate and implement training programs with full documentation
  • Conduct training for production personnel on new automated systems and assess competencies
  • Provide support to plant Process Engineer and Key User for proper usage of the Industrial System  including troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Attend conference calls between site and Support Structure for open tickets follow-up
  • Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting for complex equipment
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting automated – electrical/software issues
  • Ensure availability and performance of databases utilized for plant systems
  • Support improvement and evolutions of plant systems, including creation of specifications
  • Assist production to optimize the existent PLC and robotic programs
  • Make sure that all PLC and robotic programs (updates, edits, back-ups) are stored and per our company standards

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Shift is 7pm - 4am
  • Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Backgrounds in paint and injection manufacturing for plastics/composites. Experience with modern manufacturing automation system. Hands-on robotic programming experience
  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI configuration and programing
  • Strong programming/computer background
  • Strong understanding of network concepts and protocols
  • Knowledge of MES and Information flows
  • Knowledge of OPC server / middleware
  • Knowledge of MS SQL (administration / maintenance of database)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Project Management experience
  • Data analysis and mindset
  • Formal training skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
