DIVISION Intelligent Exterior Systems

The Commodity Manager PP&C leads the team of Commodity Buyers for Purchased Parts & Components. Together with his/her team and in alignment with the Purchasing Management on Business Unit and Division level he/she is responsible for the development and implementation of commodity strategies, the management of the supplier panel and the identification and implementation of savings to achieve the purchasing budget and contribute to the long-term competitiveness of Plastic Omnium Intelligent Exterior Systems.


Missions :

1. Development and implementation of commodity strategies (through his/her Commodity Buyers)


2. Management of the Supplier Panel (through his/her Commodity Buyers)


3. Identification and implementation of actions to achieve purchasing targets (Savings, Cash/Inventory, Quality) (through his/her Commodity Buyers)


4. Coaching and development of team of 8 Commodity Buyers located in France, Slovakia, Germany and UK





Knowledge / Qualification


  • Background with specialty in purchasing Business degree with specialty in purchasing management or mechanical / plastic engineering degree with additional business qualification


Previous Experience


  • Minimun 10 years in an industrial & international environment dealing with technical and production issues, project management and purchasing issues.
  • First successful experience of management
  • Ideally Plastic injection and painting Knowledge
  • Exposed in previous assignments to a demanding & competitive environment (preference Automotive)

  • Knowledge of the markets (local, regional, global) & purchasing marketing
  • Purchasing process knowledge :
    • Supply base management (supplier selection, supplier ranking, supplier development, commodity strategy)
    • Management of complex RFQ processes & sourcing. Ability to support specification preparation
    • Order to pay process and contractualization
  • Purchasing knowledge/ Commodity strategy management 
  • Technical negotiations 
  • Companies & commercial laws 
  • Project  management 
  • Finance & cash management 
  • Logistics (consignment, VMI incoterms) 
  • Management (hierarchical and functional)
  • English Fluent
  • Other language used in the perimeter of activity  is a plus
