Job Summary

To provide total logistics support to the manufacturing operation. To ensure that the manufacturing operation has sufficient components / raw material necessary to meet the build schedule and achieve targets set forth in the supply chain scorecard.

 

Reporting Relationship

  • This position reports directly to the Materials Manager
  • Incumbent may also receive direction from the Troy Logistics / Purchasing teams and other Managers within the Plant
  • This is a salaried exempt position

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage component and resin procurements / communications to support Master Production Schedule
  • Utilize PFEP to maintain inventory levels and drive cost improvements/control relating to inbound freight
  • Create supplier forecast and oversee all related planning parameters in ERP system (ADP)
  • Support supplier EDI processes
  • Optimize component inventory levels
  • Support inbound freight cost using Third Party Logistics provider, including support of international inbound freight
  • Ensure on-time delivery of ordered items
  • Assist engineering change transition to minimize obsolescence, including assisting in new part and new suppliers management process
  • Routing instructions, packaging, procuring returnable dunnage
  • Issue SNCR’s to suppliers who are past due or any other issues with logistics
  • Facilitate Kanban ordering process and all related planning parameters

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist as needed the Inventory Control Analyst role to ensure 100% inventory accuracy
  • Support extra plant activities or other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Must successfully complete all required training
  • Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
  • Work requires bending, sitting, standing, stooping, climbing and walking
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Two years’ experience in manufacturing environment with supplier management skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)
  • Hands on experience with Lean Shop Floor systems
  • APICS certification and experience with OEM systems is a plus
