Job description




  • Leads and develops the team of Country Buyers
  • Optimizes and standardizes operative purchasing processes and interfaces to other functions (e.g. Accounting)
  • With his team of Country Buyers he/she is responsible for :


  • managing and addressing supply chain risks
  • identifying and implementing cost savings opportunities with suppliers and plants
  • implementing engineering changes in serial life
  • ensuring correct payment of suppliers
  • managing mandated parts and suppliers




  • Leads the regular meetings of country buyers and ensures that issues are prioritized, tracked and if necessary escalated
  • Acts as escalation level regarding
    - problem solving process (management of operative supply bottlenecks)
    - supplier payment process
  • Reviews regularly the progress of his team on identifying and implementing savings
  • Develops and monitors KPIs to assess the performance of suppliers in serial life in cooperation with Supplier Quality
  • Develops and monitors KPIs to assess internal performance of purchasing processes (e.g. blocked invoices)
  • Manages workload within his team and between his team and the Commodity Buyer team





Knowledge / Qualification/ Previous Experience            

Business background with specialty in purchasing management or logistics management or

Mechanical or Plastic Engineering Degree


Minimum 5 years’ experience in Purchasing or Logistics in an industrial environment

Management of a team (functionally and/or disciplinary)



Key technical competencies

Skilled in the application of problem solving methodology

Knowledge of operative purchasing processes

Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects

Advanced negotiations skills

Deep competencies in SAP application

Deep understanding of logistics and material flow processes

Project management skills

Problem solving skills

English fluent

Language skills in one or more of the following languages are beneficial: French, German, Spanish, Slovakian Polish
