JOB SUMMARY

 

Standardization: Interact with plants supply chain teams and leadership along with corporate purchasing to establish a standardized approach toward deployment of customs compliance and supply chain related activities.

 Execution: Responsible for supporting plants in developing, defining, and meeting Supply Chain key metrics relating to freight cost management and supplier delivery. As well on Customs Compliance matters including

Training:  Support and sustain lean customs and supply chain activities.  Development of training, and hands on mentorship / support as required.  Ensure demonstrated knowledge within the logistics and customs compliance functions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

        MX SUPPLY CHAIN

  • Creation of supply chain metrics that support and drive lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Work with purchasing buyers and plant logistics to establish best transportation methods and optimization.
  • Work with transportation providers to establish low cost contracts for transportation services
  • Lead launch initiatives for logistics and sequencing including future business quoting and budgeting.
  • Teach / mentor teams in logistics tools such as PFEP, Pull Sheet & Logistics Scorecard.
  • Manage and update supply chain estimator according to negotiated freight rates.
  • Support administrative value stream mapping for material’s related processes to improve efficiency
  • Global interaction with other regions sharing best practices and standardization of processes
  • Manage C-TPAT process ensuring plants maintain certification status

    NAO CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE

  • Creates business rules and balance scorecard for trade compliance per legal entity.
  • Develop the standardized controls & processes for sustainability compliance on each plant. Compliance Matrix.
  • Establish written procedures and checklists for the critical operations.
  • Coordinates and performs yearly audits by external firm. Perform the compliance risk assessment and follow up to close findings.
  • Ensure the compliance of all the legal reports and information is submitted to the authorities accurate and on a timely manner.
  • Analyze participation of POAI in beneficial government tax programs. Optimize use of duty preference programs.
  • Review contracts with customs brokers and validate quality service thru sncr

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

     

  • Experience in commercial negotiations with suppliers.
  • Able to influence and motivate people, especially in non-direct reporting relationships
  • Hands on experience in the use of MFGPro and SAP systems within each of the materials functions a plus
  • Ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization (hourly, management, and executive levels)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (English required).

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

     

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field from an accredited institution
  2. Master´s Degree is a plus.
  3. Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive manufacturing environment desired
  4. Minimum of  3 years in within the supply chain management field
  5. Miniumum of 3 years in within the customs compliance field.
